Sobinbank has changed the ownership

Sobinbank is owned by the Gazenergoprombank, the bank affiliated with “Gazprom”, since October 15, 2008. Sobinbank has become the third credit company changed its ownership during crisis. Bank of Russia had to pay for this deal 500 million $. At the same time seller and buyer claimed Sobinbank did not have serious financial problems.Many potential buyers have been interested in Sobinbank for a long time, even when problems in the banking sphere were obvious. According to some reports, the deal to sell Sobinbank to one of the largest foreign banks for 1 billion euro was on the stage of signing an agreement but it failed due to the liquidity problems of the buyer.

As Rushan Sharafutdinov, Head of the Murmansk Division of Sobinbank, informed, the deal will not influence the bank clients. The procedure of taking out loans for retail customer and small-medium businesses did not change. Interbank payments are made in the same terms and conditions.

Rushan Sharafutdinov underlined the rebranding of Sobinbank is not planned in the nearest future.
