Illegal migration will be stopped

The meeting of the border commissioners` assistants of Russia, Norway and Finland was held on September 25, 2008 in order to discuss the prevention of undocumented migration. The agenda of this meeting was the results of 9-months work of Border offices and reports about the reasons and conditions of undocumented migration to Nordic countries. As the press-service of The border guard department of the Russian FSB informed participants of the meeting underlined the necessity of cross-border cooperation.

Significant role was given to the cooperation with Norwegian Border Commissariat and representatives of Norwegian law enforcement authorities, as they constantly helps Russian frontier guards to investigate criminal cases connected with illegal border crossings. Finally, participants of the meeting made proposals concerning effective information exchange and strengthening of cooperation between officials of three Border departments. The next meeting is planned to be held in October, 2008.
