Two wind farms can appear in Murmansk region

On the 30 of October, 2008 there will be recurrent conference of Interdepartmental commission about distribution of productive forces in Murmansk region. It is planned to examine two declarations.One will be represented by Netherlands company «ProjectInvest B.V.». It requests to give fundamental agreement for distribution of wind farm with a capacity of 100 megawatt in the district of Lodeinoe and Teriberka. The total area is 100 hectares. The approximate price of the first electric power station turn is 140 million Euros. Such amount of money Company plans to compensate within 7 years.

According to The Ministry of Economic Development, another wind farm with the same capacity is planned to be build by Management company OOO «Russian wind» from Saint-Petersburg. Due to the company’s declaration «Russian wind» is going to place wind generators on the coast of Barents Sea in the district of Pechanga, to the north-west from settlement Liinahamari. The approximate price of this wind farm is 110 million Euros. The source of financing is «group of private Russian investors».

On the conference of Interdepartmental commission about distribution of productive forces in Murmansk region, which was held on the 9th of October, 2008, the opportunity of building a huge energy complex, which will generate electricity by means of wind power, in Murmansk region was discussed. At that time the commission favored the declaration «Wind farms nearby settlement Lodeinoe and along the road Murmansk – Tumaniy – Serebrjanskaya hydro-electric power station – I, II». Its representatives are Netherlands Company «Windlife Energy and «Windlife Arctic Power» - Russian organization, registered in Murmansk. It is planned to place wind farms with a capacity of 200 megawatt in the first step of realization.
