Contract about the facilitation of visa regime between Russia and Norway will come into force on December, 1, as the ambassador of Norway in Moscow, Oivind Nordsletten, informed last Thursday. Many categories of people will be able to get multi-entry visas for long period, down to 5 years.Moscow and Oslo approved this agreement on the 8th of June, 2007. The agreement was signed after negotiations between Russian Prime Minister, Mikhail Fradkov, and his Norwegian colleague, Ens Stoltenberg, who was in Moscow with the official visit. The agreement provides the simplification of distribution of single entry visas with period of validity up to 3 months and also multi-entry visas for some categories of people. Such categories as members of official delegations; entrepreneurs; journalists; figures of science, culture and education; students and pupils, participating in exchange programs; members of international sport arrangements, exchange programs between link cities; persons, who visit military and civil burial places; close relatives of people, who live in Norway on legal ground; drivers and members of train staffs, who do international, passenger and freight cartings.
Now applications from Russian people will be examined within 10 days in consulate generals of Norway in Saint - Petersburg and within 5 days in Murmansk.
Those, who have diplomatic passports will have an opportunity to use a non-visa regime with total time up to 3 months within half a year. The procurement of visa will cost 35 Euro, of urgent procurement – 70 Euro.
