The two-day Northwest Russia Renewable Energy Forum was opened on October 21, 2008, in the “Meridian” conference-hall. Forum is organized by the Murmansk Regional Public Environmental Foundation “Bellona-Murmansk” with the support of Norwegian Barents Secretariat and Norwegian Scientific Council, Norwegian energy companies Varanger Kraft, Alta Kraftlag, Administration of the Commune Ser-Varanger and Finnmark.As Nina Lesikhina, Coordinator of Energy Projects of “Bellona-Murmansk” Foundation, informed, representatives of the Murmansk City Administration, Kola Science Centre, Russian, Norwegian and Netherlands energy companies, agroindustrial complexes of the Murmansk region take part in the meeting.

Participants of the Forum will discuss the development of renewable power, wind and bioenergetics, its economic and legislative components. Successful experience of the realization of renewable resources projects will be presented within the framework of the Forum.
