cross-borderSpecial zone for the Russian-Norwegian development
The meeting of the Deputy Head of the Murmansk region Sergey Subbotin and Federal Ispector General of the Murmansk region Vladimir Losev with the members of the Defense Security Committee of the Storting of the Kingdom of Norway was held in order to discuss the creation of the border zone between Russia and Norway. This zone will represent itself a territory of 120 sq. km equally divided between two countries.
Territories of the Pechenga district will form the zone in the Murmansk region. It is planned to build powerful production facilities on these territories with the usage of its resources. Facilities will help to provide stable socio-economic development of the zone and border territories of Russia as well.
