Oil is transferred to Europe through Murmansk

OAO “Russian Innovative Fuel and Energy Company” (OAO “RIFEC”) has exported 238,000 tons of oil along the Northern Sea Route from June 13 to October 13. 89,000 tons of this amount were exported to the Western Europe from Sredne-Khulim and 149,000 tons from Sandibinsk oil field of Yamal. As Press Office of the company informed, oil was loaded at the oil-loading stations Andra and Numga, overloaded from river tankers into sea tankers at Obskaya Guba and then transferred to the port of Murmansk.

According to the Managing Director of OAO “RIFEC” Valery Grayfer, this transport route fosters the development of the oil fields with the poor infrastructure situated in the Far North and helps to keep the high quality oil for its realization at high prices.

The Managing Director underlined the usage of the Northern Sea Route can be more intensive if concessionary terms are created. It is extremely relevant due to the development of the new oil and gas fields in the North of Russia.
