New road from Murmansk to Sochi through Saint-Petersburg will be build. It was announced by Oleg Belozerov, Head of “Rosautodor”, on the “Roads of Russia” exhibition in “Lenekspo”. As information agencies of Saint-Petersburg (“Fontanka.ru”, “Saint-Petersburg.ru”, “Eho of Saint-Petersburg” radio) reported on October 14, 2008, it is planned to build about 1900 km of new asphalt road but the terms was not specified.

Oleg Belozerov also informed the first stage of Western High-Speed Diameter (WHSD), its southern part, will be put into service by October 25. The whole diameter of WHSD will be build by 2013.
